Angles!

Hello Everyone!!

We are continuing our unit on geometry and spatial sense and this week we will be identifying and classifying acute, right obtuse, and straight angles. In geometry, an angle is the figure formed by two rays sharing a common endpoint, called the vertex of the angle. I have found two great website math is fun where you to explore acute, right obtuse, and straight angles and ambleside where you can participate twenty interactive  angle activities.

Type of Angle	Description
Acute Angle	An angle that is less than 90°
Right Angle	An angle that is 90° exactly
Obtuse Angle	An angle that is greater than 90° but less than 180°
Straight Angle	An angle that is 180° exactly

 

Parts of an Angle

The corner point of an angle is called the vertex

And the two straight sides are called arms

The angle is the amount of turn between each arm.
